News from AAFC’s Market Access Secretariat
The Market Access Secretariat (MAS) of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) wishes to inform you that the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK) has notified members of the World Trade Organization (WTO) of a new legislation that modifies the allowed Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) of mefentrifluconazole found in various foodstuff. The draft measure G/SPS/N/GBR/25 was notified to the WTO on February 6, 2023, and the regulation came into force retroactively starting January 19, 2023. A link to the PDF version of the regulation can be found here: https://members.wto.org/crnattachments/2023/SPS/GBR/23_0906_00_e.pdf
We invite industry to use the Pest Management Regulatory Agency of Canada (PMRA) MRL database tool Maximum residue limits search to search for the current MRL for mefentrifluconazole applicable to commodities that are currently being exported to the U.K. market.
Please note that Canada uses parts per million (ppm) as the measurement unit while UK uses milligram per kilogram (mg/kg) but both measurements are equivalent.
