As part of its mid-year reallocation process, Colombia has announced that 3,219 metric tonnes (MT) of residual TRQ volume are available for reallocation: 2,897 MT will be made available to historic Colombian importers and 322 MT will be made available to new Colombian importers. According to the official timelines established for the administration of Colombia’s 2021 TRQ for Canadian pork, Colombian importers are invited to submit applications for this residual quota from August 2-18, 2021, and the revised list of quota holders will be published on September 2, 2021.
The Canadian Embassy in Bogota has provided this information to its Colombian importer contacts. Given the significant volume of residual TRQ volume available, you may wish to provide this information to your exporter members for their awareness of potential export opportunities to Colombia through the TRQ during the latter half of this year.
